Three People Charged With Attempted First Degree Murder And Robbery

CLAYTON – Clayton Police Chief Greg Tart has confirmed the arrests of three people on attempted murder and robbery charges stemming from a January 28 shooting.

Police said 22 year-old Nassir Lyndell Ford of Raleigh was seated in a Dodge Challenger in the 400 block of Commodore Street when the suspects reportedly approached and attempted to rob him. Ford was shot in the face. He drove to a nearby Wendy’s fast food restaurant on US Highway 70 Business to summon help.

Ford was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh by Johnston County EMS.

Police investigators arested Andrew Landon Teague, 18, of Garner and Jayden Tyriq Chatman, 19, of Clayton for the shooting and armed robbery. Police also charged a 17 year-old juvenile from Raleigh in the investigation.

All three suspects are charged with attempted first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy.

Chief Tart did indicate this was not a random incident. Chief Tart said the investigation is still ongoing and no further information can be released at this time.

  1. Thank you, Clayton PD, for getting these dirtbags off the street. Why do people just want to take a life like that life means nothing. That is the problem today, Life means nothing. This makes me sick.

  2. This is very sad why do people think its easy just to take someone else life what is this world coming to everytime u turn around just so much killing going around .

  3. These are kids that aren’t very bright. They don’t think of consequences before their actions. How do you even get away with anything with cameras everywhere and a phone in your pocket that tracks you? You know they didn’t leave it at an alibi spot. Dangerous people.
