CLAYTON – Clayton Police Chief Greg Tart has confirmed the arrests of three people on attempted murder and robbery charges stemming from a January 28 shooting.
Police said 22 year-old Nassir Lyndell Ford of Raleigh was seated in a Dodge Challenger in the 400 block of Commodore Street when the suspects reportedly approached and attempted to rob him. Ford was shot in the face. He drove to a nearby Wendy’s fast food restaurant on US Highway 70 Business to summon help.
Ford was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh by Johnston County EMS.
Police investigators arested Andrew Landon Teague, 18, of Garner and Jayden Tyriq Chatman, 19, of Clayton for the shooting and armed robbery. Police also charged a 17 year-old juvenile from Raleigh in the investigation.
All three suspects are charged with attempted first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy.
Chief Tart did indicate this was not a random incident. Chief Tart said the investigation is still ongoing and no further information can be released at this time.

These are kids that aren’t very bright. They don’t think of consequences before their actions. How do you even get away with anything with cameras everywhere and a phone in your pocket that tracks you? You know they didn’t leave it at an alibi spot. Dangerous people.
