Fire Heavily Damages Johnston County Home

FOUR OAKS – A fire caused significant damage to a Johnston County home. The blaze was reported around 1:30pm today (Wednesday) in the 2400 block of Hockaday Road, near Thomas Road, south of Four Oaks.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the small single story residence.

Two people were living at the address. They had left a short time earlier to run an errand. When they returned they discovered the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the fire victims.

The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.

No injuries were reported.

Four Oaks, Blackman’s Crossroads, and Strickland’s Crossroads Fire Departments responded.
