A firefighter was injured after responding to a four alarm fire at a Johnston County business Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were dispatched to Atkinson Milling Company at 95 Atkinson Mill Road, off Highway 42 East, near Selma at 3:41pm. A 911 call reported a fire in the attic of the business.
The Antioch, Corinth Holders, Selma and Thanksgiving Fire Departments responded to the scene. The Selma Fire Department ladder truck was used to allow firefighters to access the roof to cut open a hole to gain access to the fire. The blaze was quickly contained.
Although the cause was not immediately determined officials said it was not suspicious.
One firefighter was injured at the scene and transported by an EMS crew to the hospital.
