FOUR OAKS – A man moved into his home on Saturday night, and it was destroyed by a roaring fire on Sunday morning.
The fire was reported around 5am. The owner, and his two friends who had just helped him move in, escaped uninjured.
Although the fire was quickly brought under control, everything in the home, including priceless family artwork, was lost.
The home was located in the Lassiter Hills subdivision off of NC Highway 210, east of I-40.
Four Oaks, Elevation and 50-210 Fire departments responded along with Johnston County EMS. The American Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner.
The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the cause.
