Hamburgers, rib eye steaks and 25 bags of carrots were among the items a Johnston County family reported stolen from their home this week.
Wednesday evening, the family was at their home on Strickland’s Crossroads Road near Four Oaks when they heard a noise outside. They went to investigate and saw someone standing at their freezer. They initially thought the person was an acquaintance.
When they heard the noise a second time, the person was gone. Upon closer examination, the family discovered the missing items and the individual was not someone they thought they knew.
The suspect fled before deputies arrived. The missing food items was valued at $135.00.
