Former Campbell running back De’Shawn Jones will attend rookie minicamp with the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle invited Jones following the 2018 National Football League Draft.
Jones, who starred for the Camels from 2013-16, finished his collegiate career as Campbell’s all-time leader in rushing yards with 2,632. The Fayetteville, NC native also owned Campbell career records for rushing touchdowns (20), all-purpose yards (2,934) and overall touchdowns scored (21).
Jones was a First Team All-Pioneer Football League performer in 2015, running for a then-Campbell record and a conference-best 1,079 yards that season, becoming CU’s first 1,000 yard runner and earning a spot on the College Football Performance Awards’ FCS All-Purpose Performer of the Year Watch List.
As a senior in 2016, Jones added 641 yards on the ground with nine touchdowns, despite an injury shortened season playing in only seven games.
The Seahawks’ 2018 rookie minicamp will be held May 3-6 in Seattle, Washington.
