PRINCETON – Four people were sent to area hospitals following a three vehicle accident at the intersection of US 70 at US 70-A in Princeton. The collision was reported just after 9:00am Saturday.
A white Honda pickup t-boned a gray Mazda, causing the Mazda to overturn. The Mazda came to rest against the front bumper of a white Ram pickup towing a trailer, which had stopped for a stop sign at the intersection.
Two people in the Honda and two people in the Mazda were transported to the hospital. The driver and passenger in the Mazda had to be extricated from the overturned vehicle.
Westbound lanes of US 70 were temporarily closed.
Princeton Fire, Pine Level Fire, Johnston County EMS, and the State Highway Patrol responded.
I am sadly not surprised. This intersection has needed a stoplight for decades. How many crashes have to happen before it gets a stoplight?
I agree with you 100%. Traffic has tripled coming from Pine Level in the past five years and hwy 70 has turned into a speedway. Even if you lowered the speed limit in that small area, people would not pay a lower speed limit any mind.
they are trying to eliminate crossing straight over on the road as have cut off such in most places ????on that road this past year??
I keep away from that intersection now that there’s an on ramp on Davis Mill.
