Four Oaks Man Accused Of Entering Home, Touching Juvenile

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — A 34-year-old Four Oaks man was arrested following an incident May 12 in the Four Oaks community.
Jeffrey Scott Herring is accused of entering a home without permission and making sexual comments toward an adult female, according to authorities.
Investigators said when the woman went to alert her husband, who was in another room, Herring allegedly inappropriately touched a juvenile male before the child’s parents returned.
Herring was detained at the scene until law enforcement officers arrived.
Deputies later charged Herring with misdemeanor breaking and entering and felony indecent liberties with a child.
Herring was initially held under a $50,000 secured bond, which was later increased to $100,000 secured.
If released on bond, Herring has been ordered by the court to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.
