A Four Oaks man said he was assaulted and robbed while at a location near Benson Thursday night.
Around 9:00pm, Johnston County deputies responded to a residence on Highway 50 about five miles north of Benson. The 28 year-old victim said he was struck in the head with a baseball bat and robbed of his wallet, 9mm handgun and a cell phone.
The victim was taken to Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield for treatment of minor injuries.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and has a possible suspect in the case.
