A BMW and fuel tanker collided Tuesday around 10:00AM on Highway 96 at Covered Bridge Road in northern Johnston County.
According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of the BMW pulled from the intersection into the path of the empty tanker. After impact, the car overturned and briefly trapped the driver inside.
The Corinth Holders Fire Department and Johnston County EMS quickly responded. The female driver was freed from her car but was not injured. The driver of the tanker was also not hurt.
Troopers cited the BMW driver for failure to yield.
