Improvements will be made this summer to the Girl Scout Hut at the Bob Wallace Jaycee Kiddee Park on S. Second Street.
The Town of Smithfield will spent $21,295 to make the repairs after awarding a bid for the project. The work will include replacing the front and rear decks, adding additional deck posts, replacing T-111 siding panels, painting the building and foundation, and debris removal.
Three bids were received by the Parks & Recreation Department. The bids were in the amounts of $21,295, $21,700 and $28,000. JLP Carpentry of Four Oaks was the low bidder.
