Girl Scouts Unveil Two New Online-Only Cookies For 2027

RALEIGH, N.C. – Girl Scout cookie season will have two additions next year — including one that is not meant for people.

Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines announced Sept. 8 that Patch Pals, a cookie made for dogs, and Girl Scout Sparkables, an allergy-friendly oatmeal cookie, will join the lineup for the 2027 Girl Scout Cookie season.

Both will be available exclusively online for direct shipping beginning Jan. 12, 2027.

Patch Pals, developed with pet company BARK, are soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored dog treats. Each features one of four designs inspired by traditional Girl Scout patches.

The new product marks the first time Girl Scouts has offered a cookie specifically for dogs.

Girl Scout Sparkables, developed with Partake, will be the organization’s first cookie aimed at families navigating certain food allergies.

The crunchy oatmeal cookie includes chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles and is made in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens.

The two new offerings will be sold alongside longtime favorites including Thin Mints, Caramel deLites and Peanut Butter Patties.

Local Cookie Season Begins In January

Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines, which serves Johnston County and much of central and eastern North Carolina, will hold its 2027 cookie season from Jan. 16 through March 14.

Patch Pals and Sparkables will become available online several days earlier, on Jan. 12, as part of the national launch.

Unlike traditional Girl Scout cookies sold at booths and directly through local troops, the two new products will be online-only and available for shipping.

Proceeds from Girl Scout cookie sales remain with local councils and troops and help pay for activities including outdoor programs, travel, community service, STEM programs and other troop experiences.

Lisa M.K. Jones, CEO of Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines, said cookie sales also give girls experience with setting goals, making decisions and managing money.

“Cookie season is about so much more than the cookies,” Jones said. “It gives girls a place to try new things, make decisions, build confidence, and see what they are capable of.”
