Over $30,000 worth of items was stolen from a Smithfield area home during a break-in that is now being investigated by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Last Thursday, a resident on Brogden Road reported that someone broke into their home between 12:30pm and 4:00pm stealing a safe containing 9 gold bars, 1 silver bar, and jewelry valued at $30,425.
Deputies said there were signs of forced entry into the residence.
No arrests have been made.
