Goldsboro Police Seek Possible Additional Victims In Sexual Abuse Case

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. – A Goldsboro man has been charged in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile female over a period of several years, according to the Goldsboro Police Department.

Police said the investigation began July 18, 2025, after officers received a report alleging the girl had been sexually abused from approximately 2002 through 2013.

During the investigation, detectives identified Cedric Antoine McMannus, 56, of Goldsboro, as a suspect.

McMannus was arrested Aug. 21 and charged with two counts of statutory rape of a 13-, 14- or 15-year-old by a person at least six years older, felony child abuse involving a sex act, and indecent liberties with a child.

He made his first court appearance Aug. 24 and was denied bond.

Goldsboro Police said investigators believe there may be additional victims involving similar alleged offenses.
