NC Governor Roy Cooper was in Johnston County on Wednesday.
Cooper spread a bit of good news to those who lost everything in the state and to farmers whose crops were devastated by Hurricane Florence. Agriculture in NC’s number one industry and farmers in Eastern NC are facing major losses which even crop insurance is not going to cover, according to the Governor.
While in the Smithfield area, the Governor signed Hurricane Florence Aid Bills to help with recovery efforts.
Cooper also visited a tobacco farm on Strickland Road outside of Smithfield that sustained significant damage during the hurricane.
