The Town of Selma continues to enjoy business growth. Tuesday afternoon, groundbreaking was held for a new Shell Station and Hardee’s Restaurant.
New Dixie Mart and Boddie-Noel Hardee’s held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new business at 433 US Highway 70 East next to Interstate 95 in Selma. New Dixie officials plan to tear down the Shell station building they own on US 70 at I-95 and rebuild the new convenience store/restaurant building on an adjacent tract of land they have purchased.
Selma Mayor Cheryl Oliver, Johnston County Commissioner Ted Godwin and other local officials were on hand for the ceremony.
Officials hope the new store can be opened in May 2017.
