Multiple law enforcement officers converged on the scene of a domestic dispute on Interstate 95 in Johnston County Monday afternoon.
The incident began around 4:15pm while three family members were returning to Dunn from a trip to Smithfield.
While traveling on I-95 near I-40 outside of Benson, two of the 3 men in the vehicle began arguing. One reportedly pulled out a knife and the other pulled out a gun.
A passing motorist spotted the man in the car holding a gun and called 911.
Numerous officers responded to the scene and located the vehicle that had stopped beside the interstate.
The men, all from Harnett County, were questioned before being released without being charged. No injuries were reported.
