FOUR OAKS – Highway 701 South has reopened following a serious two vehicle collision. The 4:05pm Saturday crash occurred on Highway 701 South at Strickland’s Crossroads Road. A white passenger car and black SUV collided at the intersection.
Two ambulances transported patients to Sampson Regional Medical Center and one ambulance transported a patient to WakeMed in Raleigh.
The collision shutdown Highway 701 for more than an hour. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with a traffic detour. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause.
The Strickland’s Crossroads Fire Department also responded.
