Hit And Run Accident Injures Pedestrian

SMITHFIELD – A hit and run accident in the Smithfield city limits injured a Four Oaks man.

Police said Jacquan Hooks, age 29, of Four Oaks was standing next to the driver’s side of a 2023 BMW, parked and facing west on Massey Street. Hooks was sideswiped by an unknown westbound car, around 2:09am Saturday. The car failed to stop.

Hooks was treated at the scene by Johnston County EMS but declined transport to the hospital. The driver of the BMW, a 27 year-old Atlanta, GA woman, was not injured. The BMW sustained approximately $300 in damage.

Smithfield Police are investigating.
