SMITHFIELD – Police are searching for a hit and run vehicle that struck a pedestrian. The accident was reported at 9:11pm Thursday at the intersection of N. Fourth and Hancock Street in Smithfield.
Police said Tara Reynolds was walking across the street when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle that traveled through the intersection. The vehicle did not stop.
The 47 year-old victim sustained serious injuries and transported by Johnston County EMS to the hospital.
Smithfield Police are investigating the accident.
