Hocutt Baptist Church will love on their neighbors this Saturday as they host their second annual outdoor event offering free food, games, take-homes, music, and door prizes. Everyone in the Clayton community in invited to join in this Saturday, October 28th between 2:00pm and 5:00pm in the church parking lot, located at 315 West Second Street in Clayton.
“We want to bring back the idea of reaching out to our community, and loving our neighbors as Jesus commanded,” said Brad Lee, Associate Pastor of Students at Hocutt Baptist.
Many neighbors have already benefited from the work Hocutt is doing in the area. Now the church is making advances into the community on a more personal level, face-to-face with residents, meeting their needs. The Neighborhood FREE 4 ALL will allow people to come together and have fun, get to know each other, and get to know Hocutt Baptist.
“The Lord wants the local church to be the hands and feet of Jesus,” said Vickie Bowers, co-coordinator of Neighborhood FREE 4 ALL. “Our goal is to discover ways we can minister to the needs of those who are around us and get to know our neighbors better. What better way can we do that than by inviting those in our community to come out for an afternoon of fellowship, food, and fun… for free.”
This event is driven by Hocutt’s focus on fulfilling Luke 10:27, which says “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.” Neighborhood FREE 4 ALL is part of Hocutt’s commitment to Connect Locally, sharing the love of Christ in practical ways, both big and small, with their neighbors.
Founded in 1957, Hocutt Baptist is a family-oriented church located in Downtown Clayton.
