A Johnston County family was not harmed following a home invasion in the Meadow community. The incident was reported around 6:30am Monday in the 11000 block of Highway 96 South, near Eldridge Road.
The victim said someone entered her home and removed her purse while she slept. The purse and its contents were found scattered in the front yard of the home the following morning. The victim’s child reported hearing a noise around 2:30am but did not see anyone.
The victim told deputies she could not remember if she had locked the entrance door before going to bed.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
