Hundreds of Packages Spill Onto I-95 After Truck Crash
FOUR OAKS — Hundreds of packages spilled across the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 early Monday morning after a delivery truck overturned and struck a median guardrail near Exit 90, just before the U.S. 701 bridge.
The single-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. A private delivery truck transporting Temu packages to a distribution center in South Carolina veered into the median, where the guardrail tore open the side of the box truck. The impact scattered packages across the highway and into the median, forcing authorities to temporarily block all southbound lanes.
One southbound lane was later reopened, but significant delays were reported between Four Oaks and Smithfield throughout the morning commute. Crews continued working to remove debris and clear the scene, with officials expecting full cleanup to be completed by Monday afternoon.
The driver of the truck was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

Temu packages. I got caught in this mess this morning on the way to work. Traffic was at a standstill for at least an hour with no way to exit. Hope the driver is OK. He’s at an unknown hospital with unknown injuries 😢
I was in it with you. From a little after 8 to 9. Got out to see if I could take the shoulder to the exit and it was a no go. Silver Rav 4.
I got caught in it at 11:00! Not sure why it took so long. There was at least 15 dot trucks there. Pick up the packages put them in a U-Haul and drag the truck off the highway to the new grove exit and let traffic flow! Ridiculous. Bet a cell phone was involved. Not much any other reason to just “ veer into the guard rail. I95 in joco is a death trap. No shoulder for correction, horrible road condition…..and dot feels a bridge ( which has been under construction for years) is more important. Pure idiocy.
Hundreds of Temu packages, so a grand total of $32.15 in loss.
