HENDERSONVILLE, NC – Following a long drive taking the only detoured route available, the first four truckloads of donated Johnston County hurricane relief supplies were delivered Wednesday afternoon to a sprawling collection warehouse in Hendersonville, NC.
Johnston County Emergency Management leaders are there assisting the local logistical staff and were very grateful to see the outpouring of support from their own county.
The center is being used by Henderson County and Federal authorities to collect, store and distribute materials to mountain areas where they are needed. North Carolina National Guard personal are providing the needed labor.
Sheriff Steve Bizzell, Johnston County deputies who escorted the four trucks, and the truck drivers should return home this evening.
Another show of how much Johnston County Citizens step up to help when others are in need.
