A Johnston County homeowner got a surprise delivery over-the-weekend. The 61 year-old man had been out of town for several days when he returned to his residence on Sunday to find a US Postal Service package on his porch.
The homeowner wasn’t expecting any item in the mail and took the box with him to open at his girlfriend’s home in Wake County.
The victim said when he opened the package, it initially appeared to contain a part for a computer. Upon further examination it was methamphetamines.
The victim immediately contacted authorities in Wake County when turned the case over to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell told WTSB News on Monday the incident is currently under investigation.
