According to a press release from the office of United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina Robert Higdon, a man residing in Johnston County has been indicted on immigration charges.
Ricardo Contreras-Mendoza, 33, of Mexico was one of two men indicted by a grand jury in Raleigh on charges of illegal entry of a deported alien.
If convicted, Contreras-Mendoza faces a maximum of 2 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and a term of supervised release following imprisonment.
