After a medical assessment, they were transported as a precaution by Johnston County EMS to an outside medical facility.
All four offenders were treated and returned to facility that same day.
The incident remains under investigation by Johnston Correctional staff. The names of the inmates involved, including what they may have taken, was not disclosed.
