Infant Death Under Investigation In Dunn

DUNN, N.C. — Authorities are investigating the death of an infant in Dunn after emergency responders were called to a residence on West Broad Street.

The Dunn Police Department confirmed it is investigating the death of an infant that occurred Monday, June 1. Few details have been released as the investigation remains active.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was requested to assist with processing the scene. The SBI and Dunn police are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Officials have not released the infant’s age or cause of death.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed by the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
