Inmate Accused Of Having Illegal Drugs In Jail

SMITHFIELD – An inmate at the new Johnston County Detention Center in Smithfield is accused of having illegal narcotics in his possession.

On September 12th, a Johnston County deputy arrested Steven Blake Reaves, age 37, of Katherine Drive, Garner on three failure to appear warrants for felony larceny, felony conspiracy to commit larceny, and misdemeanor shoplifting.

While being processed into the detention center, jailors reportedly found a small amount of suspected cocaine in his possession.

In addition to the three failure to appear warrants, Reaves was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance in jail/prison premises and felony possession of cocaine.

Reaves was held on a $50,000 secured bond on the failure to appear warrants, plus an additional $25,000 bond on the narcotic offenses.
