BENSON – The clip-clop of equine hooves will soon be heard in Benson as the annual Mule Days festival gets underway this week.
Festivities kick off with a Mule Days concert in Benson’s Singing Grove on Main Street Thursday, Sept. 21, featuring Antique Outlaws at 6 p.m., followed by Mark Wills from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
General admission is free; however there is reserved seating available for $20, chairs provided. The Outlaw Bit Band will perform from 9:30 to 11 p.m. on the McDonald’s Stage, located directly behind the Singing Grove.
Activities continue through Sunday, including more live music, a street dance, downtown vendors, mule events, a rodeo, trolley and wagon rides, Cowboy Church Service, and much more.
The 74th annual Mule Days Parade will take place from 10 a.m. to around noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, down Main Street.
Carnival rides will be located at 304 S. Lee St., from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21; 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22; noon to midnight Saturday, Sept. 23; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.
