SMITHFIELD – Former Johnston County Commissioner and local CPA Lee Jackson was sworn in October 4 as the newest member of the Johnston County Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board.
“I’m certain there will be many people applying for this board position due to their desire to be first in line for the next fancy liquor that is all the rage,” Mr. Jackson wrote in his application. “Those people do not understand the importance this board has to Johnston County. This board operates as a separate entity from the County Government and has the authority to borrow money, build buildings, lease property, and act own (sp) its own… Having served as a County Commissioner gives me a unique perspective to understand how important it is to have reasonable intelligent people on board’s that operate as authorities.”
Mr. Jackson served as commissioner from 2017 to 2018. He is an accountant with Dees, Jackson, Jackson & Associates, PA in Smithfield. Earlier this year he was named a Johnston County Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Mr. Jackson is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
County commissioners selected Mr. Jackson, on October 2, to fill the vacant seat on the ABC Board from among three applicants. The ABC board consists of three members, each serving a three year term.
We have our closet democrat in now? Mr. Jackson have you been back or have plans to go to another Hillary Clinton campaign event?
