Scouting America Fundraising Dinner March 31

SMITHFIELD – The public is invited to attend a Celebration of Scouting Dinner featuring Mr. Frank B. Holding Jr. The event will take place on March 31, 2025 at 6:30pm at First Baptist Church, 202 South Fourth Street, Smithfield.

Frank B. Holding, Jr. is chairman and CEO of First Citizens Bank and its parent company, First Citizens BancShares, Inc. – a top 20 U.S. financial institution with more than $200 billion in assets. He leads the largest family-led bank in the nation, with more than 17,000 associates and 500-plus branches nationwide.

A native of Smithfield, Frank was involved with the local Boy Scouts program and worked toward his Eagle Scout award. The fundamental strengths he learned then – the importance of relationships, discipline, preparation and resilience – are traits reflected by colleagues at First Citizens. Frank continues to advocate for the important work Scouting does within communities and actively supports the organization today.

  1. Aren’t these the same people who decided that the Boy Scouts needed to have girls included, whereas the girl scouts were in no need of reform?
