At the NC Public Transportation Association annual conference held in Charlotte this month, hundreds of transportation executives, state and national elected officials, and industry experts gathered to discuss topics of importance. Part of the agenda included recognition of transportation systems that excel.
The Johnston County Area Transit System (JCATS) received a statewide safety award for having documented the least number of reportable incidents with injuries.
” This honor could not be possible without the dedication of our drivers,” according to Executive Director Neal Davis. “They have applied the training that staff has provided and have made the personal commitment to be safe.”
In the past year JCATS buses provided over 100,000 rides and traveled over one million miles, equivalent to a trip from New York to Los Angeles every day. JCATS is a division of Community and Senior Services of Johnston County, Inc.
