JCSO: Counterfeit Narcotics Seized During Search

ANGIER, N.C. – A narcotics investigation that began in August led Johnston County sheriff’s investigators to a home in western Johnston County, where two people were charged.

Agents with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant Sept. 23 at a residence on Skyline Drive, off White Memorial Church Road near Angier.

Sheriff’s officials said the search uncovered approximately 75 grams of a counterfeit controlled substance made to resemble cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia.

Kevin Donte Morris, 36, of Holly Springs, was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver a counterfeit controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held without bond pending his first court appearance.

April Cofield of Angier was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $500 unsecured bond.
