A disabled woman is accused of selling prescription pills as a way to supplement her income. Following an undercover investigation that began in 2014, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested 61 year-old Margaret Southern Kozee of Spring Lake on Thursday afternoon.
Kozee would allegedly drive from Cumberland County to Johnston County to sell prescription pills to undercover officers, according to Narcotics Captain A.C. Fish. Agents allege the Cumberland County woman was selling the pills as a way to make additional money because she was on a fixed income. The transactions occurred numerous times, Captain Fish said.
Kozee was arrested on 16 charges including 11 counts of trafficking opium or heroin. She was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a half million dollar bond.
