SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at a Smithfield area business. Just before 1:00am this morning (Thursday), deputies responded to a burglar alarm at Eagle Homes at 3600 Highway 70 East.
Deputies discovered someone had forcibly entered two display homes. No items were taken.
Officers did locate evidence from the scene. A detective has been assigned to the case.
