LILLINGTON – Jillian Pope has filed for District Court Judge. Jillian is seeking to fill the seat that will be vacated by the Honorable Resson O. Faircloth upon his retirement.

Pope says she has a deep understanding of the local issues facing Harnett, Johnston and Lee Counties.

Jillian is a lifelong Harnett County resident who lives in Dunn with her husband, Wiley Pope, and their four children, ages 2 through 19. She volunteers her time coaching cheerleading teams, leading the Preschool Council at First Presbyterian Church of Dunn, serving on the Good Hope Board and as President of Dunn Elementary School’s PTO.

A graduate of Campbell University, with an undergraduate degree in Trust Management, a minor in Financial Planning, a master’s degree in Business Administration, and her Juris Doctorate from Campbell University’s School of Law, she began her career in private practice with Charlene Edwards Law Office in Lillington where she helped criminal defendants, parents, juveniles, and other civil parties navigate predominantly district court cases.

The last seven years of her career she has worked for the citizens of Harnett County as the Harnett County Department of Social Services attorney for child support enforcement, as well as filing legal actions for abuse and neglect to protect both juveniles and adults.
