SMITHFIELD – The Johnston Community College Foundation awarded $12,500 to 25 students just before the start of the 2023 Fall semester to help them enroll at JCC and meet their educational goals.
The newly created JAG Scholarships were awarded to students based on financial need during the College’s recent Express Enrollment period.
“We were presented with the needs of these students who were attempting to sign up for classes, but did not have the funds to complete their enrollment, so we found a solution right away,” says Foundation Executive Director Joy Callahan.
“We are grateful to the Foundation for accessing these unrestricted funds to help these students begin their journeys here at JCC,” adds JCC President Dr. Vern Lindquist.
“The lives of those 25 students were forever changed,” Lindquist adds.
The JCC Foundation welcomes contributions year-round. If you would like to make a difference in a student’s life, consider making a donation at www.johnstoncc.edu/foundation.
