Johnston County Board Of Elections To Host Voter Photo ID Event

SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Board of Elections will open its office outside of regular business hours to help voters comply with new photo identification requirements. A “Voter Photo ID Event’ will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
The event will take place at the Board of Elections Office, located at 205 S. Second Street, Smithfield, N.C. The Voter Photo ID event is free and no appointment is necessary.
Beginning in the 2023 municipal elections, North Carolina voters will be required to show photo ID. Most voters will simply show their driver’s license, but there are many other acceptable forms of photo ID. This list can be found on the State Board of Elections’ website.
Only eligible voters who reside in Johnston County will be able to receive a voter photo ID at the event. Voters will need to provide their name, date of birth, and the last four digits of their social security number on a request form, which will be provided.

Wouldn’t you need a photo ID of who you are to get a photo ID of who you are?
What came first, the photo ID or the need to have a photo ID?
Evidently not, “Voters will need to provide their name, date of birth, and the last four digits of their social security number on a request form, which will be provided.”
Doesn’t seem like they are trying to prevent fraudulent voting, anyone can most people’s name and birthdate from Facebook and a lot of people don’t keep the last 4 numbers of their SSN secure. It would still be awfully easy to commit voter fraud. (It’s what the dems are counting on.)
Think back to when you got a driver’s license. How did the DMV verify your identity?
I would like to see the statistics on how many eligible voters, who are currently registered to vote in Joco, don’t have a driver’s license.
@Brett: Me too. I couldn’t find exact numbers, but got pretty close: Per NCSBOE, about 73% of NC is registered to vote. Per NCDMV, about 77% of NC are registered drivers. From that, we can extrapolate that aprox 16% of registered voters don’t have a driver’s license. When you consider that in 2020, nearly a third of all elections were decided by less than 10 percentage points, I expect to see some dramatic results in 2024. When you combine that we’ve been able to pigeonhole and dilute the voting power of the left, I really hope we can turn the GOP around — as long as we get rid of the RINOs and social oligarchs that pollute our party today and return power to the True Conservatives! #VoteOutIncumbents
“as long as we get rid of the RINOs and social oligarchs”
AMEN!
What could possibly go wrong?
