SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Health Department will be offering drive-thru clinics for the COVID-19 vaccine and will release the clinic dates as they are scheduled. Phase 1B, Group 1 includes anyone 75 years or older. Individuals who qualify under, Phase 1B, will receive the vaccinations on a first come, first serve basis until capacity is reached. In addition, any remaining individuals who qualify for the vaccine under Phase 1A will be eligible during the drive-thru clinics.
The timing of the clinics for Phase 1B, Group 1 will be dependent upon the weekly dosage allocation received from North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).
Johnston County has approximately 10,000 residents (75 years or older) that qualify for Phase 1B, Group 1.
Individuals who would like to receive the vaccine should bring proof of ID that qualifies them as being in Phase 1A or Phase 1B – Group 1 (75 years or older)
