Johnston County Deputies Arrest Kenly Man In Narcotics Investigation

KENLY, N.C. — A Kenly man was arrested Thursday afternoon after Johnston County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Hoss Road following a monthlong narcotics investigation.

Michael Christopher Trotter, 39, was taken into custody at the home. Authorities allege the residence was being used for the sale and use of illegal drugs.

During the search, investigators seized approximately 11 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 5.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, seven packages of mushroom-infused gummies totaling 456 grams, oxycodone pills, a small amount of marijuana, digital scales and drug paraphernalia.

Trotter was charged with six offenses including possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine; maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance; and possession of a controlled substance.

He was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center, where a magistrate set his bond at $20,000 secured.
