Johnston County Investigation Leads To Arrest Of California Man

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A months-long investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest and extradition of a California man accused of assaulting three young relatives while visiting family in Johnston County last year.

Isaac Silva-Cardenas, 21, of Watsonville, California, was taken into custody in his home state before being extradited to North Carolina on June 25.

He is charged with three felony counts of indecent liberties with a child.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began after the alleged offenses were reported on Nov. 25, 2025.

Investigators said the case involves three juvenile victims, ages 5, 7 and 13, who are relatives of the suspect. Authorities allege the offenses occurred while Silva-Cardenas was visiting family members in Johnston County in 2025.

Because the victims are minors, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the allegations.

Silva-Cardenas was booked into the Johnston County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.
