NC Governor Roy Cooper signed a new order today (Monday) extending the closure of all North Carolina public schools, including all K-12 classes in Johnston County Public Schools.
Previously, Gov. Cooper ordered all public schools closed through the end of March. The new order signed today extends the closure through May 15th to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Also Monday, the NC Board of Education voted to ask state and federal lawmakers to waive all end-of-grade exams and testing requirements.
