Juvenile Accused Of Bringing BB Gun To School

BENSON – A student at West Johnston High School is facing charges after he reportedly brought a BB gun to school. The incident occurred Thursday, March 31.

Thursday night, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received a tip a student had posted a video on Snapchat allegedly showing the juvenile walking through school with the gun in his waistband. The black BB gun resembled a real firearm.

Deputies were able to watch the video and identify the student. Officers went to his home and after speaking with a parent were able to locate and seize the BB gun.

Authorities said the student admitted to taking the gun from his home to school. A juvenile petition was obtaining charging the individual with misdemeanor possession of a weapon on educational property.
