Suspect Crashes Stolen Car Minutes Later
WILSON’S MILLS – A 67 year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint and carjacked Friday night. It happened around 7:30pm in the 300 block of Fire Department Road in the Wilson’s Mills city limits.
Police Chief A.Z. Williams said the victim was held at gunpoint by the juvenile suspect who took her purse and vehicle. The suspect immediately fled from the area on the stolen car.
A short time later, Johnston County sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious person call about 10 miles away. They located a juvenile walking beside Highway 39 North near Batten Pond Road, north of Selma. The juvenile matched the description of the carjacking suspect and was in possession of one of the items stolen from the victim.
The stolen car was found about 50 yards away from the suspect. The car had been involved in a traffic accident.
The juvenile was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon by Wilson’s Mills Police and committed to a juvenile detention center in Wake County.
Additionally, the State Highway Patrol filed 10 different traffic-related charges against the suspect.
The 67 year-old victim was not physically injured. The suspect also escaped injury after wrecking the stolen car.
The weapon was not located.
Chief Williams said additional charges are pending.
When are we going to start showing some pictures of these juvenile delinquents in case we see them in the future.We know the courts will never do anything with them!!
If he has balls big enough to carjack someone & rob her then he has balls big enough to be tried and sentenced as an adult! Burn his butt!
