A Johnston County high school student was being questioned by authorities today (Friday) after he allegedly made threats on social media against his school.
The incident was reported Friday morning to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office by administrators at Corinth Holders High School. School officials were notified the juvenile had allegedly shared a social media post with several of his friends alleging he was planning to bring a pipe bomb to the school.
Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Murphy said detectives spoke with the juvenile and his parents and determined the threat was not credible.
According to a concerned Corinth Holders High parent, the principal sent out a recorded message this morning indicating there would be additional security at the school today and to contact the school for more information. The parent said when they called the school they could not get any answers.
Authorities have not said if the juvenile will face any charges. The investigation is still ongoing.
