DUNN – Dunn Police have announced an arrest in the stabbing of a juvenile Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Pizza Inn at 1138 W. Broad Street. Police Chief C.A. White said officers were called to the parking lot of the restaurant at 3:53pm reporting an altercation between two people resulting in a stabbing.
A 16 year-old male juvenile was stabbed. The victim was rushed by ambulance to WakeMed when he still remains. The suspect, Corey Antwain Clark, 36, of Dunn was injured during the altercation after he fell onto a wooden pallet outside a nearby Big Lots store. Clark was transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital where he was treated for a leg injury and then released into police custody.
Clark was later charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill. According to Harnett County Jail records, Clark is being held under a $250,000 bond. A motive for the altercation has not been released.
Last Thursday, 31 year-old Xavier Lemon of Coats was shot and killed inside his car in the drive thru lane at Wendy’s Restaurant at 594 E. Jackson Boulevard in Dunn. Police later arrested two suspects on murder charges. Police have not said if the crimes have any connection.
