KENLY – With the support from the Town Board, Mayor, and the Town Manager, the Kenly Police Department had the privilege of honoring and recognizing three remarkable individuals this holiday season, whose contributions have profoundly impacted the Kenly Community.
Police Chief James Ayers said their selfless efforts encompassed providing essential provisions like food and nutrition, clothing and shelter, toys for children, generous financial support for community events, and most importantly, extending love and kindness to those in need.
The recognition, by the town leadership, was to express deep gratitude and appreciation for these incredible individuals and their tireless commitment to the welfare of others.

Business Humanitarian Award – Josiah Hennein – Owner of McDonald’s

Servant Leadership Award – Sheila McNeill – Executive Director of Kenly Area Ministries
Sheila McNeill, recipient of the Servant Leadership Award, embodies the true essence of leadership through her exemplary actions. Her inspiring leadership has significantly impacted the community, demonstrating exceptional resource management and unwavering commitment to empower others through selfless service.
Making a Difference Outstanding Community Service Award – Dr. Evangelist Louella S. Neal of Temple of Praise
Dr. Evangelist Louella S. Neal’s consistent and distinguished service has made a profound and lasting difference within the Kenly community and its surrounding areas throughout the year. Her dedication has significantly contributed to the betterment of the community, earning her this prestigious award.
Chief Ayers expressed his admiration stating, “These three recipients represent the heart and soul of our community. They are filled with love and kindness and are always willing to help those in need. It is an honor and pleasure to know and work alongside them.
