Kenly Dad Will Pay For Daughter’s Education With $200,000 Win

KENLY – Bobby Coleman of Kenly stopped for gas Tuesday evening, added a $5 scratch-off, and bagged the first $200,000 top prize in a new game.

“It really still hasn’t hit me yet,” he said.

Coleman said he already knows what he will do with his winnings.

“I can use this for my daughter’s education,” he said.

Coleman bought his lucky Bankroll ticket from Oasis on South Church Street in Kenly.

“I like playing the new tickets,” Coleman said.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Thursday to claim his prize and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $143,001.

In addition to his daughter’s education, Coleman said he will use his winnings for some home repairs.

The Bankroll game debuted in March with five top prizes of $200,000. Four $200,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
