A Kenly resident was arrested Friday morning for allegedly staging a break-in at his home.
On May 15th, Joseph Wade Lee, 39, of the 3800 block of Highway 222 West called deputies saying someone had broken into his home while he was away. Responding officers said they saw a broken door jam at the residence. Lee reported that a Sony TV and a window air conditioner had been taken, officials said.
Detectives began investigating the break-in and determined Lee had allegedly pawned the TV and air conditioner in Wilson County just hours before he reported the break-in.
Lee was charged Friday with filing a false report. He was given a $2,500 bond on the misdemeanor offense.
